We offer hands-on internship opportunities in various areas, allowing you to contribute meaningfully while gaining valuable industry experience:
- Customer Engagement: Work on initiatives that promote residential and commercial programs focusing on solar, electric vehicles, and carbon reduction.
- Communications: Assist in internal and external communications, content creation, and digital engagement to support organizational outreach and connectivity.
- Engineering: Collaborate on new services, support customer growth (including data centers), and contribute to system maintenance.
- Finance and Administration: Hone your skills in data analytics, financial transactions, and budgetary research.
- Information Technology: Gain hands-on experience in IT support, network management, and cybersecurity to enhance system efficiency and security.
- Resources and Compliance: Dive into renewable energy purchasing, energy trading, resource planning, and understanding legislative and regulatory policies.
- Legal: Assist with legal research and contract review related to public law and electric utility operations.
- Sustainability: Support policy development, program implementation, and community outreach tied to Climate Action Plan strategies.
Compensation
- Student Intern II: $21.69 - $26.25/hour
- Student Intern III: $23.97 - $29.00/hour
Internship roles are as-needed positions and hours may vary. Maximum hours: 999 in a fiscal year (960 for retired CalPERS annuitants).
Eligibility Requirements
- Student Intern II: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
- Student Intern III: Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
