Attic Insulation Rebate

Install new attic insulation and save $175.

Much of the warm and cool air you try to keep in your home escapes through the ceiling. So make your home more energy efficient by installing new insulation in your attic. Not only will you save monthly on heating and cooling, but you can also receive a $175 rebate from Silicon Valley Power. Now that's cool.

To qualify for the $175 rebate (rebate amount is equal to receipt amount or $175, whichever is less), simply purchase and install insulation in at least 50 percent of the total attic space. Insulation must meet a value of R-30 or greater. Please note that insulation in walls and in floors does not qualify. You can do the work yourself or hire a contractor.

Just download the application, fill it out, attach a copy of your receipt or contractor's invoice marked “paid,” and either fax it in or mail it in no later than sixty days after purchase of installation.

Multi-Family Attic Insulation Rebate
Multi-family units qualify for rebates of $100 per unit, when at least fifty percent of the attic area of the apartments are insulated.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are applying for ten or more units, you must contact Silicon Valley Power at 408-244-SAVE (7283) for pre-approval before starting the project

Limits and Qualifications: Rebates are limited to one per Silicon Valley Power utility account. Projects that involve remodeling, tearing down walls, etc., require building permits. This offer is good on the improvement of existing homes only. New construction projects are not eligible. Metallic foil, radiant barrier, reflective, or foil insulation does not qualify. Please note that insulation in walls and in floors does not qualify.
