Monthly Salary Range is $9,574 - $11,630. The Senior Electric Utility Engineer-Generation position requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and three (3) years experience in electric utility engineering work or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and four (4) years experience performing electric utility engineering work. A completed City application, supplemental application, resume and letter of interest and intent must be received by the Human Resources department no later than 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2010.

The Electrician requires graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D., and status as a journey level electrician and/or completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program. Journey level experience working for an electric utility maintaining high voltage substation equipment or journey level experience maintaining solid state traffic signal equipment, or solid state supervisory control systems is desirable. Requires graduation from high school or its equivalent and four (4) years of electric generation operation and maintenance experience in a medium-sized electric generation power plant or equivalent, including two (2) years of experience above the entry level. Three years of operations and maintenance level experience above the entry level with work assignments in City of Santa Clara combined cycle generation facilities may substitute for the above experience requirements. Two (2) additional years of electric generation operation and maintenance experience with an electric generation power plant or the equivalent is highly desirable. The Journey Lineworker position requires graduation from high school or possession of a GED and completion of a recognized three-year apprenticeship program as a Lineworker. Possession of a valid California Class A Drivers license is required, or possession of a valid Class C license at the time of appointment and the ability to obtain a Class A license within six months of employment. Incumbents in this position are required to become rubber glove certified as a condition of holding the classification of Journey Lineworker within nine (9) months of appointment.
